Overview
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Associate Athletic Director - Cap Management and Strategy for Athletics Compliance.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Manages and oversees the administration of the House Settlement agreements and Cap Management within the department.
  • Oversees the analysis, and distribution of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) payments.
  • Manages the submission of NIL agreements.
  • Manages strategic planning and reporting for future cycles.
  • Assumes responsibility for financial oversight of cap management processes, distribution of funding, and oversight of valuation processes.
  • Manages the cap management software and ensure compliance with allocated funds.
  • Serves as a key stakeholder to student-athletes and external constituents for contract submissions and reporting.
  • Models short- and long-term financial projections for NIL rights for student athletes estimated to start at $20.5 million.
  • Executes the specified Big Ten Conference and clearinghouse reporting and provides game day support for various sporting events as well as completing other duties as assigned.
  • Represents Rutgers athletics with efforts and initiatives involving player management and key business partners, and with intercollegiate athletics organizations such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Big Ten (B10), and all other organizations involved in the governance of intercollegiate athletics and player management.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, economics, business administration, sports management, and five (5) years of experience in a sports-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of the sports landscape, including fluency in the principles and practices of revenue generation and management, sales and marketing and other related fields within the sports industry.
  • Strong computer skills and related software capabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational, project management, problem-solving and financial management skills.
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among stakeholders at all levels necessary.
  • Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products.
