Description

The Digital Product Owner will be a key contributor in managing existing technology offerings while also helping bring to bear new online and mobile customer experiences. The Digital Product Owner will also support a diverse set of products and functionality that is integrated into MidFirst's digital platform. Digital Product Owners will partner with multiple internal stakeholders, leadership, third-party vendors, internal and external developers, designers, business analysts, and quality assurance testers to ensure the growing expectations of our customers are met through exceptional online and mobile experiences. The successful candidate for this position will be capable of capturing high level business needs from leadership, communicating them effectively in user stories, and managing vendors and developers to the associated requirements and timelines. Excellent written communication skills, expectation setting capabilities, and comfort with ambiguity are required to be successful in this role.

Additional duties include:



  • Creating or managing a product backlog along with a third-party vendor in order to prioritize user stories for implementation
  • Leading calls with multiple stakeholders present while capturing the requirements, action items, takeaways and concerns of each of them
  • Creating and delivering presentations and business analysis intended for executive leadership
  • Documenting systems, processes, features, user experience flows, and products in a centralized location for the benefit of stakeholders and teammates
  • Setting expectations and navigating challenging conversations with stakeholders as needed
  • Focusing on regulatory matters as required, including adherence to change control, internal audit, and regulatory processes
  • Working with multiple team members and departments to define, track and test user stories within the software development life cycle
  • Providing product subject matter expertise and leadership across a breadth of offerings
  • Attending after-hours deployments from time-to-time and conducting production tests alongside quality assurance team members
  • Maintaining a flexible mindset that facilitates cross-functional collaboration with project managers, vendors, and developers across a multitude of project management and development methodologies by focusing intently on teamwork above other factors


Position Requirements:



  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree with a Business, Computer Science, or related discipline or bachelor's degree with commensurate experience
  • Agile and/or waterfall development experience
  • 2+ years of experience working within product owner framework or similar function
  • Effective written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience creating and maintaining a Product backlog and sorting the Product backlog items according to priority
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize work independently
  • Ability to clearly communicate business requirements verbally and in writing
  • Experience building productive business relationships across functions
  • Experience interacting with senior management
  • Financial services industry experience preferred
