THE ROLE:

In this critical role you will lead teams ensuring field services and deployment projects are delivered on schedule while delighting our customers. You will actively coordinate multiple projects ensuring mitigation of project risks, and communication of project statuses to internal stakeholders, leadership, and clients. You should have a strong background in datacenter technologies and deployments with the ability to assist onsite with projects as needed.

You must possess the ability to establish and drive to goals including plan of record, timelines, budget, scope, performance and quality. A passion for creating plans and working with a diverse team of creative engineers and senior executives is necessary for this critical and highly visible role.

You must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

THE PERSON:

The candidate should be a proven leader, be able to create and maintain a working cross functional team and manage in a matrixed environment. A successful candidate must have exceptional verbal, as well as written, communication skills. In addition, the role requires outstanding people management skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of Data Center Engineers coordinating their scheduling, training and quality of deliverables.
  • Track and drive project schedules with specific attention to customer needs/expectations and communication.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with customers, deliverables, and timelines (message key milestones and schedules internally and externally).
  • Coordinate and support delivery and deployment.
  • Resolve escalations through effective tracking of customer and company challenges, risks, and issues; gather key stakeholders and subject matter experts to review the escalation, identify resolution path, and see successful execution of resolution.
  • Identify process improvements to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Provide administrative support with internal and external customers, and cross-functional team, as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Multiple years' experience in the following areas:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team effectively, set goals, and provide direction.
  • Team Building: Skills in recruiting, hiring, and developing a diverse team.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization.
  • Coordination: Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.
  • Conflict Resolution: Experience in resolving conflicts and managing difficult situations within a team.
  • Performance Management: Competence in evaluating employee performance and providing feedback.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in conveying technical information.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of data center operations and infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects related to data center operations or upgrades.
  • Risk Management: Ability to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks that could impact successful project execution.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • The candidate must have a BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CCNP are highly desirable.
