Responsibilities

Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Platform Integration (H40) Division. The H40 Division designs, develops, and integrates safe, innovative, and effective weapon control systems, detection systems, sensory technologies, and weapon systems onto manned, unmanned, land, air, and sea platforms for the warfighter. This includes lethal and non-lethal weapons, guidance and control systems, autonomous platforms, advanced sensory integration, and weapons effectiveness analysis in support of surface warfare, maritime operations, expeditionary warfare, and special operations. This role focuses on embedded software development in support of Battle Management Systems. You will work hands-on with hardware and software integration, prototype development, and real-world system implementation in fast-paced, field-oriented environments.   • Design, develop, prototype, and maintain embedded software solutions for Battle Management and control systems.

  • Interface directly with hardware components, including microcontrollers and sensors, to ensure seamless integration and reliable operation.

  • Conduct low-level debugging and troubleshooting using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.

  • Create and execute unit tests, write test cases, and validate hardware-software integration.

  • Support the development of embedded GUIs and user interfaces.

  • Implement and troubleshoot network communication protocols including TCP/IP, socket programming, and data transmission logic.

  • Identify and resolve network connectivity and configuration issues in operational environments.

  • Participate in continuous integration and version control using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and GitLab.

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support multiple simultaneous development efforts in a dynamic field-testing environment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience with a strong hands-on embedded software development background.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software engineering, including design, prototyping, and hardware/software integration.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++.

  • Solid knowledge of hardware architectures, microcontrollers, and embedded communication protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug software-hardware interfaces using diagnostic tools.

  • Familiarity with GUI development for embedded systems.

  • Understanding of the TCP/IP stack and hands-on experience with socket programming.

  • Must have an active DoD secret clearance or higher.
  • Candidate is required to pass a background check.
  • Must be a US. Citizen
