JOB DESCRIPTION NAME OF EMPLOYER: Avanzar Interior Technologies, Ltd. POSITION TITLE: EHS Coordinator POSITION LOCATION: 1 Lone Star Pass, Building 41, San Antonio, TX 78264 JOB DESCRIPTION: Set EHS tactics and strategy, make recommendations on process changes based on audits, and set process and EHS expectations for employees. Responsible for documenting and managing the systems utilized by Adient in reporting safety issues in North America. Implement programs and systems aimed at eliminating the risk of occupational injury and illness while developing and maintaining a safety-minded culture in a manufacturing environment. Ensure the plant complies with all federal, state, provincial, and local environmental regulations and rules, including those related to occupational health and safety, and champion the facility's risk management program through the corporation's Business Operating Systems (BOS), designed to minimize physical and financial exposure from potential, alleged, or actual on-the-job injuries/illness and environmental compliance. Work on-call or off-shift for any emergencies that may arise, enter incidents and audit results into CORITY, and implement and maintain ISO 14001/45001 requirements. Maintain OSHA logs, manage open corrective actions, and ensure that new equipment meets OSHA guidelines. Conduct accident investigations, determine root causes, and implement resolutions. Develop and facilitate required plant safety training, coordinate and possibly teach annual safety and environmental compliance training, and conduct safety and environmental orientation programs. Perform daily safety reviews of operations, collaborate with the workers' compensation claims administration team and Third-Party Administrator to manage open claims, and serve as a contact for external agencies like the Fire Department, OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ. Ensure contractors are properly trained and adhere to safety program requirements, manage environmental and safety tasks on the glide path, and oversee the Hot Work program. Coordinate safety action plans to ensure continuous improvement, conduct safety and environmental audits, and prepare the plant for corporate audits. Respond to environmental incidents and spills, complete investigations to determine root causes, and coordinate closure activities. Lead and coordinate spill response team meetings, manage the environmental objectives program, ensure year-round implementation, and spearhead the facility's waste reduction efforts. Conduct housekeeping and safety inspections, assist in coordinating corrective action programs related to safety, orient new employees, update existing employees, and educate Team Facilitators on the duties concerning safety training, safety inspections, injury/illness investigations, and the Employee's First Report of injury/illness. Assist in accident investigation, help to assure that proper reports are completed and assist in recommending corrective action. Maintain the first aid facility of the plant, provide first aid treatment of on-the-job injuries or illnesses and maintain first aid treatment records. Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of an evacuation plan and training for employees in the use of the plan in case of fire or another emergency. Keep up to date of the latest safety procedures and equipment by membership in appropriate organizations, attendance at pertinent seminars and reading professional journals. Maintain SDS database for the plant and policies relating to this program. Contribute to the plant's Safety Recognition Program for the recognition of exceptional safety performance. Compile monthly statistics pertaining to the plant safety record. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field, plus 1 year of experience as an EHS Professional, Health/Safety Professional or occupation involving a manufacturing environment. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Investigation and root cause analysis of environmental, health and safety incidents; (2) Culture change and building a safety culture; (3) Building safety analytics, heat maps, and data analysis; (4) Managing safety programs and an employee safety committee; and (5) Developing and implementing environmental, health and safety training for hourly team members and managers. In the alternative the employer will also accept 4 years of experience as a EHS Professional, Health/Safety Professional or occupation involving a manufacturing environment. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Investigation and root cause analysis of environmental, health and safety incidents; (2) Culture change and building a safety culture; (3) Building safety analytics, heat maps, and data analysis; (4) Managing safety programs and an employee safety committee; and (5) Developing and implementing environmental, health and safety training for hourly team members and managers.
