Join Our Team as a Mechanical Engineer!

Are you passionate about mechanical design and eager to work on groundbreaking e-beam systems? We're looking for a dedicated mechanical engineer to make a real impact on our innovative projects. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of crafting cutting-edge mechanical components and supporting our current generation products.

What You'll Do:

  • Design Sophisticated Parts:Lead the creation of advanced e-beam mechanical parts, including precision components and subsystems.
  • Large Assemblies & Layouts:Lead large assemblies and system layouts using reference geometry.
  • Concept Reviews:Conduct requirement and concept design reviews to evaluate pros and cons. Apply various methods (analytical, numerical, experimental) to prove feasibility.
  • Vendor Collaboration:Work closely with vendors to understand manufacturing processes, mechanisms, and risks, making informed decisions.
  • CAD Expertise:Apply CAD software to build detailed part and assembly drawings. Perform vital analyses using CAD/FEA software.
  • Tooling Selection:Choose and craft accurate tooling for manufacturing and field support.
  • Prototype & Integration:Drive part purchasing, prototype assembly, system integration, and qualification.
  • Team Collaboration:Collaborate with manufacturing and field support engineers to develop procedures and release designs to production.
  • Troubleshooting:Work together with manufacturing and field support engineers to drive the troubleshooting process.

Qualification desired:

  • Proficiency with 3D solid modeling CAD. ProE/Creo preferred
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, fabrication methods
  • Experience in precision mechanical design/solid modeling/precision machining. Familiar with tolerance analysis/error budget assignment
  • Experience/knowledge in vacuum and high voltage applications is helpful
  • Basic FEA analysis through CAD or FEA software
  • Hands on experiences on mechanical part machining and assembly with accurate tooling
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years

Base Pay Range: $92,400.00 - $157,100.00 Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.

Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the pay for this position in the primary location identified in this posting.
