The Event Manager will work with the turnaround and project team leads and has accountable for the overseeing of all phases of their assigned turnaround/project (planning, pre-work, shutdown, and post-work).
What you will do:
- Oversee all preparation activities associated with shutdown, startup and decommissioning consistent with turnaround & project milestone schedule
- Develop the Overhead allocation strategy and approve final estimation and allocation amounts
- Create and embed a safety and quality focus into all Turnaround activities, ensure Contractor Safety and quality plans are aligned with Nutrien core values
- Lead Turnaround safety initiatives, executes Safety Action & Quality Assurance Plan, and embeds safety as a core value in all conversations and activities
- Lead the Nutrien vision of Turnaround/Project process integration implementing best practices across Nutrien facilities and implements Nutrien turnaround & project management standards and processes
- Lead effort to perform risk-based scope review and scope selection Ensure capital project scope is incorporated into Turnaround work scope, define job scopes by cut-off date and oversee effort to perform scope optimization
- Lead management teams to ensure alignment of site and turnaround goals. Monitors the turnaround and project's overall status to address significant deviations and implement mitigation strategies
- Support planning teams to develop detailed job plans and preliminary estimate Ensure job plans are validated by turnaround and project managers according to planning procedure
- Drive the schedule(s) toward minimum duration, oversee schedule and critical path reviews
- Oversee the development implementation of the turnaround planning and execution phase organization charts
- Implement contracting plan and technical bid documents, then support the overall procurement of service contracts
- Oversee the role out of cost and resource plans, logistics and equipment plans, contractor onboarding and training strategies
- Empower field execution organization to drive compliance with turnaround objectives: safety, quality, schedule, and cost and resolve issues and discrepancies
- Be accountable for compliance of the Nutrien turnaround and project process milestones throughout the life cycle of the event
- Ensure turnaround readiness, cost and execution status is communicated in real time to management and other key stakeholders
- Oversee schedule, progress, resource levels, productivity and delays and resolve issues that arise
- Ensure final unit cleanliness and turnover to operations, job plans, punch lists, post-TA scope are being carried out by turnaround and project management team lead as part of post turnaround milestones
What you will bring:
- Engineering Degree or Trades Certification with significant relative experience
- 10-15+ years or more of supervisory experience in turnaround, projects, and maintenance management and or field construction management areas
- Proven leadership in Turnaround Manager and/or multiple Project Management roles
- Strong understanding of Capital project and MRM phased approaches to Turnaround integration
- Strong project management skills, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Good knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices
- Demonstrated commitment to high safety standards
- Expert leadership, conflict resolution, and team building skills
