CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Traffic Controller Expert to join our Infrastructure - Traffic ITS Team at a client site located in Miami, FL.



YOUR IMPACT

CHA's Traffic and ITS team provides planning, analysis, modeling, and design development to help traffic run smoothly and safely in some of the largest metros in the US. Our team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical staff provides a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience in all facets of modal mobility, accessibility, safety, technology, and deployment. From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

The Traffic Controller Expert will provide in-house advanced technical expertise in the configuration, programming, testing and maintenance of traffic signal 2070 ATC controllers for the ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) contract. This role is essential to ensure proper signal timing, system integration, and effective communication between field devices and the central ATMS platform. This includes developing, modifying, and implementing signal timing plans, and supporting field inspections, validations, and acceptance testing during deployment. Additionally, this individual will ensure proper controller integration, perform controller testing, and support controller firmware upgrades.

The Traffic Controller Expert will develop standardized configurations for new functions and traffic signal operations as well as standard operations guidelines and procedures. The professional in this role will provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance staff in alignment with established procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with traffic signal controllers and signal systems required
  • Strong knowledge of NEMA, 2070, and ATC controllers, including firmware and software
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed signal operating plans, cabinet hook-up charts, and electrical schematics
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Certification (Level II or higher) preferred


SALARY RANGE:

$108,000 - $124,500

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
