DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will exhibit a keen eye for detail while assessing violation reports from the Pennsylvania State Police, the Emissions Program Manager, and Department Quality Assurance Officers (QAO) to identify any breaches of safety or emissions inspection regulations. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing hearing testimonies and advising on suitable penalties for official inspection stations, inspectors, and uncertified personnel, as necessary. You will prepare cases for the management team and engage in discussions to reach a consensus on any penalties to be applied. Additionally, you will provide interpretations of safety and emissions inspection regulation violations, as well as Department policies and procedures, to a variety of stakeholders, including vehicle owners, police officers, attorneys, legislators, and inspection station personnel. Furthermore, you will develop, update, and maintain PC-based systems to monitor violation case information and analyze violation trends, compiling reports to evaluate program performance based on this data as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
