Are you passionate about bringing arts, culture, and unforgettable experiences to life in a vibrant community? We're looking for an energetic, creative individual to take the lead in planning and managing an exciting calendar of events that span from large-scale, crowd-pleasing celebrations like our iconic July 4 festivities, to smaller, intimate gatherings like ribbon cuttings, ceremonies, and more!

In this dynamic role, you'll be the mastermind behind a variety of events, working from start to finish to ensure they run smoothly and meet clear goals. From securing funding and sponsorships to collaborating with partners and driving marketing efforts, your expertise will be key to creating memorable experiences for everyone. You'll also have the chance to work with a talented team, attend committee meetings, and play a hands-on role in making each event a smashing success!

Key Responsibilities:



  • Leads and supports staff by setting priorities, ensuring policy compliance, and guiding performance and development.
  • Plans, manages, and evaluates a variety of events, programs, and facilities. Oversees logistics, vendor coordination, contracts, policy compliance, and post-event evaluation.
  • Build community partnerships and secures sponsorships. Coordinates with City departments, vendors, and volunteers; provides updates and reports; and supports boards and committees.
  • Manages the annual budget, including planning, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial reports.
  • Oversee communications, including media outreach, social media, marketing, and internal updates. Acts as liaison and negotiates key agreements.

Other Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent


Experience:



  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience with a minimum of one year experience in a lead or supervisor role.
  • A working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures of event production.


Physical Demands:



  • Exerting 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.


Licenses and Certifications:



  • CPR/First Aid certified within one year of hire.
  • Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire.


Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:



  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
  • 3 years of previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience marketing and selling sponsorships and managing key vendor relationships.
  • Membership in a national arts, culture, festival or events organization.
