East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC is about 1.5 hours from the state capital of Raleigh, 4 hours to Charlotte and 2.5 hours away for Atlantic Ocean beaches. ECU is one of the largest institutions in the UNC system with more than 27,000 undergraduate, graduate, medical and dental students (https:facts.ecu.edu/). The School of Communication (http://communication.ecu.edu/) is housed in the College of Fine Arts and Communication. We enroll nearly 800 undergraduate and 75 graduate students. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Communication, and students can concentrate their studies in Interpersonal-Organization, Journalism, Media Studies or Public Relations. We offer a Masters of Art and for undergraduate courses an Accelerated Master in Communication, with concentrations in Strategic Communication.
Job Duties
The School of Communication invites applications for a fixed-term temporary position in Communication. Primary responsibilities include: teaching existing graduate and undergraduate courses in Communication. Candidate will teach courses that support the undergraduate interpersonal/organizational concentration and public relations concentration. Candidate should also be able to contribute to teaching core courses in the strategic communication graduate program.

Contingent upon available funding.
Minimum Education/Experience
A Master's degree or higher and 18 graduate-level credit hours in Communication or related field is required for appointment as Teaching Instructor. In addition to the requirements for Teaching Instructor, a PhD in Communication or related field and 2 years of experience is required for consideration for appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Preferred teaching qualifications include the ability to teach undergrad and graduate COMM courses, with a focus in IOC and Public Relations.
