Ellwood Crankshaft Group is the world's leading manufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.

ECM is seeking a Logistics Coordinator. This hourly, non-exempt position is critical for daily operations at ECMP Sharon and will be responsible for the daily activities of the shipping department. This position will report to the Supply Chain Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft office programs
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Logistics Experience
  • Familiar with ECG manufacturing processes and product components.
  • Work experience in an ISO 9000 Quality Management System environment.
  • ERP System experience (i.e. Syteline)


RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:



  • General:


  • Assist with TOC Initiatives (i.e. Job Close, Visual Management System)
  • Coordinate shipping schedules with Operations on a daily basis to insure that trucks can be arranged accurately to pick up of product and shipment per customer due dates
  • Oversight of yard organization and crate inventory, including physical inventory
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary


  • Receiving:


  • Verify that shipment is expected and authorized.
  • Verify the paperwork matches items that are unloaded.
  • If any damage has occurred during transit, document the discrepancies on the bill of lading. Secure photos prior to unloading whenever possible.
  • Mark parts stored outside with paint or other markings to allow for easier identification.
  • Provide the front office with necessary paper work to trigger generation of product ID tag and traveler.
  • Immediately tag parts upon receipt
  • Immediately have material handlers move parts to correct work center staging areas.
  • Take ownership of non-material receipts (i.e., spare parts).

    • Place these deliveries in the appropriate place.
    • Alert the owner; this should also be happening via email.


  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of multiple shipping departments.


  • Packaging:


  • Preserve parts with proper coating and build packaging according to instructions.
  • Ensure shafts are wrapped properly and according to customer requirements.
  • Advise Production Manager of any erroneous info on shop packet related to shipping. This will ensure the route is corrected to prevent future issues.
  • Enclose proper paperwork and documentation as required by the customer with each shaft.
  • Develop and use best practice methods for packaging to prevent claims associated with freight damage during transportation.


  • Shipping:


  • Make sure trucks are processed in an orderly fashion.
  • Have the correct shafts in shipping, prepared, and placed on the truck in a timely fashion.
  • Shipping crankshafts - Assure Safe loading trucks, ensuring that all paperwork is provided and required copies are signed, retained and delivered to management or administration in a timely fashion
  • Arrange domestic and international shipments



    • Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders
    • Work with the Quality Department to ensure all required documentation is included (i.e., Agency Certs)
    • Create Bills of Lading (BOLs), labels, etc., in Syteline
    • Adherence to US Export Laws



  • Proactively solicit information on anticipated shipments - Via the automated ECF email, and from Operations.
