Overview

Element is hiring an Entry-Level SAR Engineer (2nd shift) to join our growing team in Columbia, MD.
Element is a leading test facility for wireless device certification, performing regulatory and conformance testing as part of network test services. As a member of our operations team, the Entry-Level SAR Engineer will support Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and RF exposure compliance testing. This role is ideal for recent graduates in Electrical Engineering, Chemical or Bio Engineering, RF Engineering, or related STEM fields who are eager to apply their knowledge in a hands-on laboratory setting. Pay range: $30-40/hr



Responsibilities

    Perform SAR and RF exposure testing according to FCC, ISED, EU, and other international regulatory standards
  • Analyze and interpret test results, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Prepare detailed technical reports using MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Review device documentation to determine applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Support development and continuous improvement of test methods and lab procedures
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure efficient project execution and lab utilization
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Participate in team meetings and technical reviews to improve workflow and knowledge sharing


Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or final-year undergraduate) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical or Bio Engineering, Computer Engineering, RF Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field or commensurate with experience
  • Solid understanding of basic RF concepts
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of organization, and strong written communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn SAR and RF regulatory frameworks and test methodologies
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced lab environment
  • Comfortable using technical documentation and troubleshooting hardware issues
  • Physically able to handle equipment and test setups, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Prior internship or lab experience in wireless/RF testing or a compliance lab setting is a plus
