Job Description:


Summary

Prepares financial statements and detailed account analysis for a privately owned enterprise. Ensures the accuracy of financial records, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and contributes to continuous process improvements. Supports compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and participates in development and enforcement of accounting policies and internal controls

Essential Functions

This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

* Prepares monthly financial statements, detailed account analyses and reports for management. Compares results to budget, as well as prior year results, and accounts for variances.

* Maintains or reconciles subsidiary records as applicable. Prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in support of monthly financial statement preparation and ensures accuracy and completeness through analytical review.

* Assists in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.

* Ensures compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal control, income tax accounting guidelines and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) reporting requirements.

* Coordinates with the internal and external audit teams to ensure that all requests are satisfied promptly and accurately, including ad hoc reports and assistance with understanding accounting processes.

* Leads and actively participates with project teams to improve accounting processes and procedures. Recommends enhancements and documents the improvements as necessary.

* Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance plus 2 years of experience in Accounting reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificates plus 6 years of Accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

* Proficiency using MS Excel and MS Office products at an intermediate level to effectively manage, analyze, and report on a wide variety of data.

* General ledger experience with practical hands-on responsibility for accounting and reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance plus 4 years of experience in Accounting reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of Accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

* Experience with SAP and Ariba. Experience with manufacturing, cost accounting systems, and transportation systems.

* Exposure to payroll, fixed asset, credit and collection, receivables and payables accounting processes and systems.

* Experience with computer spreadsheet technology strong report writing skills.

* Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills.

* Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers and customers.

* Experience working with mathematical concepts and applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and applying them to practical situations.

* Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

* Experience working collaboratively with teams of individuals to provide strategic thinking, and innovative solutions.

* Capable of handling a heavy and detail-oriented workload. Self-motivated; deadline driven; works autonomously; strong work ethic; adaptable to change.

* Desire to help build new processes and seek out and apply best practices.

* Uses business process thinking to improve the Accounting function.

* Demonstrates good personal judgment and exercises a commitment to ethical conduct.

Compensation

Hiring Hourly Rate: $33.03 - $41.30.

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
