Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Ambulance-Clinical Services Manager is responsible for the clinical standards, education and quality initiatives of the Mass General Brigham Ambulance Services: field services program and providers. Functions as a clinical liaison with sponsor hospitals, clinicians and other healthcare providers, local, state and regional entities. Assures all providers maintain required certifications and/or licenses and ensures compliance to protocols, policies and procedures established for Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Chair Car programs and providers. Develops and implements educational and clinical oversight programs to support organizational and department objectives. Implements and enhances the use and expansion of distributive learning systems, medical simulation and other educational technologies. Coordinates and manages the initial entry of employees into the organization through orientation and field training. Responsible for the coordination of organizational activities to assure the smooth consistent delivery of clinical services through a comprehensive quality assurance program. Coaches, facilitates and leads the workforce in the consistent achievement of high-quality patient care and documentation. Responsible for assuring the appropriate consistent use of medical protocols, safety standards, policy and standard operating guidelines.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develops, implements, and coordinates/instructs a comprehensive internal annual education plan for field ALS, BLS and Chair Car providers based upon needs and quality improvement initiatives. This shall include initial and refresher competency training programs for all high-risk procedures and equipment.
- Develops, implements and revises as necessary a comprehensive department orientation program that provides new members with the knowledge and experience required to successfully integrate into Mass General Brigham Ambulance Services.
- Develops, implements and revises as necessary a comprehensive quality assurance program through regual case reviews and feedback.
- Provides regular communication to employees regarding clinical performance, expectations, goals, and objectives. Provides coaching for individual provider performance improvement and development. In collaboration with department leadership implements, evaluates and provides timely review and follow up on clinical remediation/corrective action plans.
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of adult learning practices and principals; contemporary concepts in quality improvement; the use of distributive and simulation learning systems. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of clinical treatment protocols.
- Collaborates with department leadership to collect, analyze, interpret, record and report on all assigned aspects of the business operations.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships with team members.
- Participates in the organizational strategic planning process of developing both short term and long term objectives.
- Participates in the Mass General Brigham Ambulance Services Administrator on Call (AOC) Program.
- Provides excellent customer service and communication to patients, facilities, and corporate departments.
- Keeps well-informed of legislative and regulatory developments, new administrative techniques, and current issues through a commitment to continuous personal and professional development and quality improvement. Instills an awareness of customer service throughout the team.
- Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality, including maintaining all policies and practices to protect PHI data and follow HIPPA guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current MA Paramedic certification or National Registry Paramedic certification (must obtain MA Paramedic certification within one (1) year.
- Five (5) years' of EMS experience as a Paramedic. Critical Care and/or Interfacility Transport experience preferred.
- Three (3) years' of experience as an EMS Instructor with clinical field preceptor/field training officer experience. Experience in project management, monitoring progress, identifying and resolving barriers and reporting status to management.
- Valid driver's license with a driving history that meets department requirements
- Massachusetts EMS Instructor/Coordinator certification preferred or successful completion of the National Emergency Medical Services Educator Certification Program within one (1) year.
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor Certifications preferred. Must obtain within one (1) year if not currently certified.
