What We're Looking For:

Iridium is seeking an entry-level professional to join our Technology Development & Operations Program Management team as a Project Management Associate I. As a Project Management Associate I, you will contribute to the completion of projects in support of Iridium Government Programs and Sales Offices. These projects are critical to the future of the Iridium business, our value-added partners, and to our end customers, and are often are in support of large, complex, and high-profile technology programs focused on end-to-end system solutions, new product development or network elements within the Iridium architecture. To be successful, you will demonstrate an eagerness and enthusiasm in learning about project management fundamentals, such as business case, risk management, schedule management, and negotiation tactics.

What You'll Do:
    Provide key support and data to the Program Management team in the delivery of diverse assignments and assist with executing assigned tasks
  • Monitor various project's financial performance targets as established in project pipeline budgets and Estimates to Complete
  • Play a role in ensuring that projects deliver quality results, activities are well-designed, and funds are expended to meet overall project objectives, contract deliverables, and indicator targets
  • Support Program Managers in completing process steps for ongoing completion of projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs to support the requirements and planning basis in a methodical and organized manner, including use of configuration management practices (CM)
  • Build stable working relationships with the Program Management team, project stakeholders, and internal personnel
  • Participate in broader team activities
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in engineering, mathematics, or science preferred
  • General experience in and/or a basic knowledge of program/project management
  • General experience in assisting with complex technical projects, preferably direct experience in telecommunications, ground networks, electronic product development/manufacturing or satellites
  • Basic knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with tools and software applications that support project management and project portfolio management
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages and ideas clearly and effectively
  • Can cultivate meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team, while being open and responsive to constructive feedback as they guide and mentor you
  • The ability to think outside the box to help solve problems, with the humility to ask for help when needed
  • Adaptability to a dynamic environment and the readiness to take on any new tasks that are handed to you
  • A motivation to achieve outcomes and results
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks at once and completing them on time with mostly no errors
  • An eagerness to develop professionally, continuously learn, and share knowledge with others
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
  • Project Management Accreditation (PMP, PMI or equivalent) a plus
We'll also need you to:
  • Be able to work in the office at least 3 or more days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders
  • Be able to travel up to 10%
Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
