Summary:
This position serves as a graphic design manager responsible for using graphic design and branding to create and grow the communications strategy of the Foundation, which is an integral component of the fundraising process. The primary purpose of this position is to create and execute a communications and engagement strategy for donors and prospective donors. The manager will work closely with the entire UNC Health Foundation team, including communications, donor experience, events, and development professionals. In addition to exceptional content and communications skills, accuracy, ability to meet tight deadlines, project management, teamwork, strong organization, and a knack for storytelling are a must.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is required to be considered.

Responsibilities:

1. Produce consistent graphic design creation of features, proposals, backgrounders and other visual materials to serve as a storytelling resource across all Foundation entities. This should include an active role in design and execution of direct fundraising materials such as annual giving solicitations and major and principal gift proposals, event collateral, digital and print pieces.

2. Work with communications teammates as well as stewardship, development and events staff to provide branding and design guidance for stakeholders, including donors, alumni, faculty/staff, event attendees and prospects. This will include impact and stewardship reports, event design, social media and digital illustrations, as well as other materials needed to advance the mission of the Foundation.

3. Develop and execute brand strategy and materials in support of initiatives across UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine. This should include working with both Foundation and UNC Health communications to continue effective collaboration across units. Additionally, continue to collaborate with communications and development teammates on identity for branding as well as developing and executing co-branded materials and guidelines for Foundation materials.

4. Work toward the creation of a library of supplemental visuals that builds on the brand, such as icons, infographics and illustrations. Curate existing photo collections and lead efforts to gather additional photo assets. Audit materials regularly to ensure visual consistency throughout print and digital communications and work with communications team and senior leadership to identify our needs for content creation and design.

Professional Experience Requirements:
* Requires five (5) years of related experience.
* Prefer candidates who have previous marketing and communications in academia/healthcare.
* A demonstrated knowledge of content creation, production and marketing/communications plans.
* A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud is required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Ability to synthesize data and information, analyze trends, identify opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations to guide strategy, communications and deliverables, brand standards, as well as decision making.
