Scope

The Legal Intern will work closely with the legal team on projects related to corporate law, contracts, compliance and governance. This position will be expected to contribute to legal projects and work collaboratively both within the legal team and with other departments.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist General Counsel and legal team with claims, drafting and reviewing contracts, including service agreements, and corporate documents

  • Conduct legal research on issues related to corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation

  • Support legal aspects of corporate governance, including reviewing board and policy documentation

  • Help monitor developments in relevant legislation and assist in compliance planning

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and observe the role of legal counsel in business decision-making

  • Maintain and organize legal records, ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong interest in litigation, corporate law, governance, compliance, or in-house legal operations

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

  • Highly organized with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset

  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education and Experience

  • Upcoming enrollment or enrollment in accredited JD program

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
