The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking an Associate Face Designer to join our Hair, Face and Soft goods team at our campus in El Segundo, CA. In this role, you will work cross functionally with the design and manufacturing teams to create face designs that are ready for production.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Be at the intersection of design vision and production implementation by creating face designs and specifications for our Dolls business
- Collaborate with design teams to meet desired expectation based on sketch or tear sheet.
- Ensure design intention is clearly communicated and that work is performed in adherence to downstream development requirements and schedule needs
- Review roto head prototypes with design, sculpting and model shop and confirm they are fit for purpose
- Ensure prototypes and reference models are provided to Mattel's overseas engineering team in accordance with production needs
- Validate accuracy of specification and ensure all outbound project documentation is accurate
- Maintain centralized prototype, paint-master and pilot sample library
- Utilize the digital face matrix/library
What We're Looking For:
- BFA/BA Degree
- Have aesthetic sensitivity for fine detail and aptitude to learn manufacturing nuance
- Understand basic face painting composition
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects, make quick decisions, and possess excellent problem- solving skills
- Relationship building and customer- facing skills
- Excellent organizational and ability to manage on-time deliverables are a requirement
- Must be comfortable with systems and data entry, update system(s) as projects progress
- Flexible within a continuously changing design environment
- Demonstrate growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required

The annual base salary range for this position is between $64,800 and $81,000.
