Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide CNC Programming in support of a team of precision machinists to manufacture unique parts for operations and maintenance of an aerospace testing facility.

Job Duties:

    Provide CNC programs for 2 , 3, 4, and 5 axis simultaneous Milling, 2 & 4 axis Wire EDM, 4 axis Ram EDM, 2 axis Lathes, 3 axis Vertical Turning Center
  • Provide complex design/build support for test articles, facility hardware, and instrumentation to include:
    • Review, evaluate, and determine if proposed designs can be manufactured
    • Writing specifications and sketches as required
    • Design tooling and manufacturing techniques
    • Conducting manufacturability studies
    • Resolve design and operational problems
    • Interface with engineering, project managers, and design personnel
    • Recommend new design techniques
  • Arrange fabrication of pilot models and determining test procedures and design of special test equipment
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise to the planning department for estimating and to design personnel for manufacturability in the total design/build process as well as provide technical manufacturing and mathematical support to machinists and the inspection lab personnel
  • Provide training to machinist for safe, efficient operation, and setup of CNC machine tools
  • Specify technical requirements for new machine tool procurement and retrofitting older machines to modern Fanuc digital servos, drives, and controllers
  • Generate and customize all post processors for the creation of CNC code to be used for each specific machine tool
  • Recommend optional designs based on machine limitations and manufacturing feasibility evaluations
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two years of college or technical training with drafting and/or design plus seven years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education/technical and progressive and relevant experience
  • Minimum five years of CNC programming experience
  • Experience with CAM systems and Post Processors
  • Experience with CNC controls: Fanuc, Haas, Sodic, and Mazak
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Any license or certification required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active security clearance
  • Experience in resolving difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009 and C/C++ Programming Language
  • Working knowledge of G Codes, M Codes when programming CNC lathes and milling machines
  • Demonstrated AutoCAD/Inventor Experience
