GENERAL SUMMARY

The CNC Programmer creates CNC programs for use in a manufacturing setting while supporting the development and introduction of new products into the business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Create or modify CNC programs for use in manufacturing.
  • Support the development and introduction of new products into manufacturing.
  • Develop routings using the current ERP system.
  • Design work holding and cutting tool technology to improve machine performance.
  • Provide support in development of new CNC machine tool requirements.
  • Self-starter with the ability and desire to continuously improve skills.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Proficient with the latest versions Renishaw probing software.
  • Proficient at utilizing the latest SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software for fixture and tooling design.
  • Proficient with the latest Mastercam CAM software for CNC program creation and verification.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and 3D design models.
  • Work closely with operators and engineers to troubleshoot CNC programs and machining operations.
  • Support new capital projects.
  • Basic understanding of GD & T.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-year technical degree background.
  • 2 years of CNC machine shop experience with knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with vendors and employees at all levels.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Must be able to tolerate long hours in shop environment and support after hours business needs as they arise.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.
  • May have contact with caustic substances in some areas of plant.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive hourly rate in the $27.28 to $34.10 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
