The Accreditation Services Associate conducts residency and technician training program accreditation surveys for ASHP. At ASHP, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. The salary range for this position is $67,500-75,000. This position is not eligible for ASHP benefits. This position is eligible to be remote but the individual must work from one of the following states so we can follow appropriate tax laws: AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, MS, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TX, VA, WI, WV.



What You'll Be Doing

    Coordinates and conducts assigned survey processes for on-site and virtual reviews, including pre-survey preparation with the site and survey team.
  • Writes accreditation survey reports and confidential page recommendations for the Commission on Credentialing and/or the Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission and ensures consistency in interpretation and evaluation of accreditation standards.
  • Provides recommendations for the publication of periodic newsletters, ASHP website updates, and other resources and education relevant to program directors and preceptors.
  • Develops written materials, makes presentations, conducts workshops, and assists with other needs that support residency/technician training programs and program directors/preceptors/learners.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of products and services that support accreditation services and member needs.
  • Contributes to the planning of residency conferences, education, and other activities at ASHP national meetings and collaborates with ASHP Commission on Credentialing, Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission, and other ASHP councils, sections, committees and task forces as needed.
  • Contributes to the revision of accreditation standards and regulations.
  • Suggests improvements in accreditation procedures, processes and cost controls.
  • Attend and participate in Lead Surveyor meetings, Commission on Credentialing (COC) meetings, ASHP's Midyear Clinical Meeting ("MCM"), and/or other meetings as requested by ASHP.
  • Manages work assignments appropriately to yield 20 hours/week (minimum).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What You Bring to ASHP

  • Requires a minimum of a degree plus a working knowledge of the theories and practices of a relevant field or discipline in pharmacy, business or association management.
  • Licensed pharmacist.
  • Completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency or obtained an equivalent level of practical experience.
  • Advanced pharmacy degree preferred
  • Requires a minimum of five years of prior related work experience.
  • Served as a pharmacy residency preceptor or residency program director, pharmacy technician training instructor, or pharmacy technician training program director.
  • Served as a practitioner surveyor with completion of at least 2 surveys within the past 12 (twelve) months.
  • Established record of achievement in pharmacy practice preferred.
  • Travel is required for this position.
