The Senior DC Capabilities Analyst works with various initiatives and network wide projects for the McLane Grocery distribution centers, typically related to cost reduction and productivity improvements. Plan, organize, implement, and manage capital and process improvement initiatives within the facility, region or network and will act as a subject matter expert for DC Operations. Additionally, perform operational and transportation analysis, continuous process improvements, warehouse management system configuration as well as facility and capacity planning. Essential Job Functions/Principal Accountabilities:
- Create and Manage Project Scheduling with internal and external project teams.
- Support companywide operations and special projects.
- Update and align Standard Operating Procedures with Corporate Engineering.
- Partner with division operations to reinforce consistent process execution and identify opportunities for process improvement by monitoring of reports/KPIs.
- Function as a liaison between Logistics and Operations understanding and resolving issues on both sides.
- Assess and optimize processes and equipment within the facility and region to support business needs.
- Implement and support McLane's warehouse, labor, execution and slotting optimization systems.
- Report and engage senior operational and engineering leaders and stakeholders to gain alignment on implementation plans and success metrics.
- Develop efficient layouts, workstations, and material handling systems for new and existing facilities.
- Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration preferred, other applicable degrees with accompanying experience will be considered.
- 7 or more years' experience in Supply Chain Distribution.
- 4 or more years' experience in warehouse supervision and/or project management experience required.
- Experience with warehouse management or inventory management software.
- Experience within distribution facility layout, racking layout and design.
- Understanding of distribution center operations to include receiving, selection, replenishment, routing and dispatch.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to advocate for and present recommendations to all leadership levels in operations and logistics/engineering.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced office and warehouse environment in a professional manner.
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
- Experience with Statistical Analysis and Operations Research preferred.
- Natural self-starters experienced in 3PL or wholesale distribution with an understanding of complex material handling facilities.
Working Conditions:
- Remote, warehouse, and office environment.
- Up to 75% travel required.
