The Senior Clerk is a member of the administrative team and works closely with outside entities and staff throughout the organization. The duties and responsibilities of the Medical Records Clerk is management of medical records. Responsible for claims processing, records releases and compliance with state and federal regulations as well as HIPAA.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 820 US-9 Queensbury, NY 12804.

We offer 4 weeks of training during normal business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Essential employee and reports to the office daily to complete assigned tasks
  • Meet productivity standards as outlined in performance metrics
  • Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management team
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Processes requests from insurance carriers and other entities with obtaining records to support the claim / services
  • Retrieves, collects and prioritizes all request for medical records, claim forms, and tax information.
  • Verifies legitimacy, accuracy and authority of all such requests and then processes as appropriate
  • Assists internal staff and associates with medical records requests and questions

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work full time onsite at 820 US-9 Queensbury, NY 12804
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends based on business need



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of healthcare experience
  • Experience in patient accounts OR a medical billing office
  • EPIC, CERNER, IDX, Athena experience
  • Basic Medical Terminology

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
