We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP of Infrastructure to lead our global Data Center Strategy Infrastructure, Network Engineering Operations and Database Operations. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong technical operational background to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure services.

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the strategic technical direction for the company's network and the internal data center footprint, in-office infrastructure across our global locations.

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee 24x7x365 infrastructure, network operations and Database Management.

  • Ensure network, data center availability and database, operations, performance, and security.

  • Performance Analysis - Analyze network and data center metrics and identify areas for improvement.

  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and technology selection to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure solutions.

  • Audit Oversight: Serve as the primary IT point of contact for all audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.

  • Team Leadership: Direct a diverse team of 60 Network, Data Center and Database engineers in the USA, EMEA, and Asia, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Budget Management: Manage a $20M CapEx budget for infrastructure refresh, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.

  • Cost Control: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, including the consolidation of data centers and the establishment of a unified cloud/on-prem operations team.

  • Reliability Improvement: Develop and enforce change control processes and standardization initiatives to significantly reduce system outages and enhance overall reliability.

  • Operational Excellence: Data Backup scheduling and execution for both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring robust data retention.

  • Cybersecurity Enhancement: Elevate enterprise risk management by deploying advanced network and data protection solutions and ransomware backup strategies to safeguard against external threats.

  • Resource Management: Implement metrics-based reporting structures using observability tools to monitor infrastructure and network health and prioritize maintenance activities.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data processing and network systems.

  • Develop and execute a network strategy that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Manage network and data center projects, ensuring they meet timelines and budgets.

  • Collaborate across teams for successful project execution

Relationships:

Internal: All Gartner Enterprise Technology Operation associates globally, working very closely with all technology groups and Source to contract teams

External: Contractors, Vendors, Clients - Data Center Account

Experience:

Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of leadership experience in global infrastructure and operations, with a proven track record in managing complex IT environments.

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of data center operations, virtualization technologies, backup solutions, and cybersecurity best practices, Network design, deployment and advanced network technologies

  • Leadership Skills: Strong team management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce across multiple locations.

  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control initiatives within an IT context.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using data analytics tools for performance monitoring and decision-making.

Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of data center and network operations, including physical and virtual environments.

  • Knowledge of server architecture, storage solutions, and network infrastructure.

  • Cloud services: Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud solutions.

  • Extensive experience in large-scale network infrastructure management.

  • Experience in managing Enterprise Databases both on-premises and in AWS and Azure clouds.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of network technologies and security practices.

  • Experience with cloud migration strategies and cloud management tools.

  • Virtualization Technologies: Expertise in VMware or similar virtualization technologies for server and storage management.

  • Ability to optimize virtual environments for performance and cost-effectiveness.

  • Backup and Recovery Solutions: Knowledge of data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

  • Familiarity with backup technologies and strategies for both on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Cybersecurity: Understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks

  • Experience deploying data protection solutions, including ransomware backup strategies.

  • Data Analytics: Proficiency in analytics tools for monitoring infrastructure health and performance.

  • Capability to leverage data-driven insights for decision-making and operational improvements

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 221,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
