What You Can Expect

As a Public Affairs Intern, you will learn the importance of establishing and maintaining relationships of trust with a variety of stakeholders both in the communities ENGIE serves across North America and within the company. You will work closely with the Vice President of Public Affairs to create materials to provide information, answer questions, and address issues and concerns, with the overall objective of promoting the benefits and opportunities that our company and projects bring.

Your daily work during the summer internship program, which runs from June 2 - August 22, 2025, will include:




  • Helping to draft content for various collateral materials relating to solar, wind, and battery storage for external audiences, in particular, project fact sheets and PowerPoint presentations, our landowner newsletter, and advertisements for local media.
  • Conducting research and updating briefing materials in support of meetings with public and/or community officials.
  • As a peer of other participants in ENGIE North America's Academic Relations Program, helping to produce new "Day in the Life" content for social media to be shared among the university community in Houston.



What You'll Bring



  • Strong writing, organizational, interviewing, and interpersonal skills, with an objective to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze and summarize data relevant to effective community and other stakeholder engagement.
  • Curiosity, opinions, and willingness to learn, including by traveling locally to project sites to understand more about their operation



Additional Details



  • The internship position is scheduled for 20 hours a week for 12 weeks starting on June 2, 2025. An adjustment to the concluding date of the internship can be made to accommodate the start of the fall academic calendar.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in a Public Relations, Public Policy, Communications, or related program at a four-year university at the commencement of the internship semester.
  • This role requires attendance at ENGIE North America's Houston office on a weekly basis, both to execute projects and to participate in programming with fellow interns.
  • The applicant must possess a valid U.S. driver's license to potentially drive to site locations.
  • The applicant must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE Ethics and Safety policies.



Compensation

Hourly Range: $30.00 USD hourly

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
