Job Description
The Pool & Health Club Manager is responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction of the Omni Shoreham Health Club and Pool, encompassing spa treatment services, the fitness center, outdoor pool, and locker room facilities. This role ensures the seamless integration of wellness, recreation, and hospitality, while upholding brand standards and delivering a high-caliber experience for both hotel guests and club members. The manager will lead operational planning, service innovation, and team development to continually enhance the facility's performance, reputation, and overall guest satisfaction. ($65,000 - $70,000, based on experience)
Responsibilities
Maintain operating standards and guest service expectations for the Health Club areas including the outdoor pool, fitness center, and spa services (massage, esthetics, sauna)
Coordinate and schedule all service appointments within the spa, ensuring service providers adhere to guest service standards and operational policies. Oversee daily operations of the pool, spa, and fitness center; ensure cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and proper staffing levels. Ensure compliance with local and brand regulations for pool and spa operations, including safety, sanitation, and wellness guidelines. Serve as the primary contact for Health Club members and hotel guests using the facilities; resolve guest concerns promptly with effective service recovery. Lead by example with a focus on quality, professionalism, teamwork, and the Omni culture. Supervise, mentor, and develop Health Club and spa team members, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations. Ensure staff are trained on all operational procedures, service standards, and emergency protocols. Partner with Housekeeping, Engineering, and other hotel departments to maintain cleanliness, supply levels, and equipment functionality. Monitor inventory and order necessary supplies for spa, fitness center, and pool operations. Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts to increase usage and visibility of spa and fitness services, including managing memberships and group reservations. Monitor and report on financial performance, including budgeting, payroll, labor costs, and monthly reporting metrics. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure high-quality service delivery and efficient operations. Support public relations and promotional efforts to attract local membership and encourage guest use. Be proactive in identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue through service innovation and team engagement. Ensure safety procedures are followed in all areas and respond appropriately in the event of any emergencies.
Qualifications
DC Pool Operator's License required or at least two years of pool operations management experience. 3-5 years of experience in hospitality, recreation, or wellness management; hotel/resort experience preferred. Strong leadership and organizational skills; experience managing teams in guest-facing environments. Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of pool chemistry and safe handling of pool chemicals; must ensure compliance with safety standards. Able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift). Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and push/pull equipment or carts up to 250 lbs. Comfortable with bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching as part of daily duties. Good manual dexterity and visual acuity for equipment operation and inspections. Strong verbal and written communication skills for team leadership and guest interaction. Experience with scheduling, reservations, or membership systems is a plus. Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while leading a team.
