Job Description

The Director of Rooms is to be directly responsible for the performance of the Rooms Division which covers Front Desk, Guest Services, Loyalty, Housekeeping, Laundry, Shuttles, and Spa.

Responsibilities

  • Quality and efficiency of Front Office operation, in particular:
    • guest services
    • reservation efficiency and maximum utilization of guestroom space available
    • attainment of average rate as specified by budget
    • payroll control within budgeted limits and in accordance with variance of occupancy
  • Responsible for the quality and efficiency of Housekeeping function as related to: cleanliness of all guest areas; payroll and supply control in accordance with budget and varying levels of business; excellence in appearance of all public areas and physical property.
  • Maintains close communication with the Director of Operations and other department heads.
  • Recommends programs for the motivation and development of staff.
  • Assistance in developing annual budget and preparation of action plans.
  • Participate in monthly forecasting and weekly scheduling; daily reviews, operating results and take immediate corrective action as required.
  • Maintains high visibility with associates and guests.
  • First of each quarter submit objectives to be accomplished for the forthcoming quarter.
  • At the end of each quarter, evaluate completed objectives of staff under your direct supervision and develop with department heads objectives for forthcoming quarter.
  • Directly responsible for the Transient Medallia program - Alerts, Reports and Monthly Analysis.
  • Directly responsible for the Monthly Issue Prevention Meeting - SMART Plans.
  • Directly responsible for the MOD program - Scheduling and Training.


Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalency required
    • Three to Four years' experience in Front Office/Housekeeping/Guest Services, including at least two years supervisory experience, required.
    • Knowledge of Epitome, Opera, Kronos, and Go Concierge are preferred
    • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
    • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be available to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays
