Clinical Lab Scientist, Per Diem CLINICAL LAB Full Time 84809BR Job Summary The clinical laboratory scientist performs routine and complex laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established policies, procedures and quality control guidelines. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $82.41 - $82.41 (Hourly Rate). Master's Degree preferred. 1-year minimum clinical laboratory experience preferred. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (for Applied Genomics and Hemoglobinopathy Labs Only) license required. Certification Required: ASCP certification preferred. Clinical laboratory skills, knowledge and abilities are established via training and assessed via annual competencies. Must be familiar with nucleic acid based testing, including the use of clean rooms for employment in the HLA, Applied Genomics and Hemoglobinopathy labs. Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of modern clinical laboratory equipment and analyzers is required. Must be computer literate Physical Requirements: Sit up to 8 hours/day Stand/walk up to 6 hours/day Repeated use of instruments/equipment up to 8 hours/day Lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs. The job requires the ability to hear alarms, phone calls and the ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
