The purpose of this role is to develop and implement account-specific strategies to meet company objectives for assigned accounts and region. Focus is promoting the value proposition to institutional customers with decision-making influence. Customers within accounts may include CEOs, CFOs, pharmacy directors, medical directors, key physicians, pharmacists and/or nurses. Incumbents have responsibility for activities and profitability of accounts that may include HMO's, PPO's, PSAO's, Individual Practice Associations, Competitive Medical Plans, Government Pay Programs (Medicare/Medicaid, etc.) nursing home chain headquarters, Insurance companies, Labor Unions, Ambulatory Care Centers' headquarters, hospitals, regional PBMs, Veteran Administration (VA), state or federal corrections, Department of Defense (DOD), employer groups, community mental health centers, 340b entities (indigent care facilities/disproportionate share hospitals), Indian health systems, business coalitions, and group purchasing organizations (GPOs). Negotiates contracts and develops and executes the tactical plan for assigned accounts. This may include building forecasts, modeling, financial and strategic objectives, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, tactical elements, and budgets. Incumbents are accountable for sales/profitability of account. Incumbent does not directly manage sales reps.

Responsibilities:

Regional Account Executive

  • Develop and implement account-specific strategies to meet objectives for assigned regional accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Eisai and regional accounts, representing Eisai's product portfolio.
  • Manage access and policy for Eisai's products for regional accounts and appropriately communicate status with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., leadership, field sales, AEs, marketing, HEOR).
  • Work with various key internal stakeholders to align national account business plans with brand plans and effectively implement those plans at local/regional level.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for regional accounts, execute brand strategies and tactics, and advocate for access at the local level.
  • Review and analyze applicable data to make informed decisions on regional accounts in terms of contract execution and performance.
  • Create access to Eisai's product portfolio in regional accounts while building a strong corporate presence with key managed care and formulary decision-makers and other appropriate stakeholders.

Sr. Regional Account Executive (in addition to above)

  • Proactively engage and cultivate deeper relationships with relevant stakeholders/contacts across the account ecosystem (e.g., IDN, pharmacy, KOL) to anticipate and address complex account requirements effectively.
  • Train and mentor early career regional account executives around effective planning and management of regional accounts and customer engagement.

Qualifications:

Regional Account Executive

  • Bachelor's degree (Advanced degree preferred) with 8+ years of commercial experience.
  • Prior experience in account management and/or with health care background, preferred.
  • Expertise in both pharmacy and medical benefit, preferred.
  • Proven record of success in managing managed care accounts in both pharmacy and medical benefit environments, preferred.
  • Experience in monitoring accounts.
  • Some experience participating in contract/agreement negotiations, preferred.
  • Proven experience in driving business impact utilizing information from multiple disparate sources.
  • Strong experience driving complex change initiatives in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in earlier role.

Sr Regional Account Executive

  • Proven performance as an RAE with demonstrated proficiency in successfully managing/overseeing portfolio of complex/critical accounts within region.
  • Demonstrated success in planning/revising tactics to align with changing industry trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats based on environmental/government policy landscape.
  • Track record of success inthe development and execution of pull through initiatives with regional payers/customers/sales.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The base salary range for the Regional Account Executive / Sr. RAE - (West) is from :167,000-219,100 Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
