Description General Position Overview This position is a front-line employee contact that promotes SoundOff culture and our employee branding by managing and facilitating leaves of absence and accommodation management, retirement administration, employee recognition and compliance reporting. Essential Job Functions Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers. The Human Resources Generalist will support in one or more of the areas noted below. Payroll and Benefits: Responsible for administering the retirement plan and back up for all other benefits including enrollment, resolution of problems and answering questions. Manage and update HRIS system for inputs related to leave administration. Administer leaves of absence including Short Term Disability, FMLA etc., ensuring legal compliance as well as excellent employee communications. Responsible for HR related reporting (EEO, 5500, VETS-4212 and PCORI). Administers employee recognition programs. Partner to ensure open enrollment is conducted in an accurate and timely way including good communication to employees and their families as well as answering questions and resolving issues. General HR: Administers and executes routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation. Maintains current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action guidelines and laws, such as FMLA and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law. Assists with company internal events and community events. Works with team leaders, supervisors and managers to provide advice, ensure consistency of policy implementation and documentation, and monitor practices to ensure compliance with the law. Assists with tracking key metrics for the department as defined by management. Maintains employee files. Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree and/or SHRM Certification. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated understanding of human resource laws and a minimum of 2 years' experience. Demonstrated ability to handle matters of confidentiality discreetly and work with employees on issues requiring varying degrees of sensitivity. Demonstrated broad understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent customer service, public speaking and relationship building skills. Strong attention to details. Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Ability to work a flexible schedule at times to meet with off-shift employees. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong public speaking skills. Competent computer skills using (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Proficiency with Payroll and HRIS systems beneficial. |
