Summary The Non-CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safe and timely transportation of company materials to and from the required destinations while complying with all DOT requirements. Roles and Responsibilities The Non-Truck Driver will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner: Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good workingorder Logs working hours, vehicle service, or repair status Complies with state and federal regulations Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage Requirements Requirements Must have a Class C driver's license Willing and able to do construction (laborer) work when driving is not available Able to communicate in English at different jobsites Must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) The following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job: Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or avehicle to exact positions Far Vision - The ability to see details at a distance Depth Perception - The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away fromyou, or to judge the distance between you and an object Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Response Orientation - The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements inresponse to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures) Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It doesnot involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound,light, picture) when it appears Rate Control - The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment inanticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene Spatial Orientation - The ability to know your location in relation to the environment or to knowwhere other objects are in relation to you At Baker Construction, we welcome those who are driven to make things happen.
