IEM is looking for a Full Time - AMI Solutions Architect, who will closely work with IT Leadership to support the AMI Project and play a key role in the AMI solution(s) requirements as part of the overall project. Primary Location:
- Live anywhere that meets remote work requirements in the United States.
- Work will take place either in the field,in an office environment,or remotefrom a personal location and will depend on the need of the project.
Travel Requirements:
- This position will require travel (up to 10%) around Puerto Rico to complete work assignments or attend meetings.
Essential Functions:
- Establishes integration standards and technology platforms ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices for utility Meter to Cash processes.
- Drive data strategies for LUMA IT/OT organization including but not limited to datalake, data warehouse, databricks, Azure frameworks, and data retention.
- Implement utility specific requirements and designs into production through standard industry practices.
- Facilitate conversations with the business users to gather and provide recommendations on target business requirements in line with Meter to Cash capabilities and the functional roadmap.
- Remove obstacles for the functional team to ensure solution objectives are met.
- Provide regular communication to project leadership and functional team regarding project status, risks, decisions, delivery quality, and resource-related issues.
- Provide the information and documentation needed for change orders.
- Enforce the project issue and risk identification, troubleshooting, decision-making, mitigation, and escalation processes to ensure quick and effective problem resolution.
- Approves design documents for integration and solution implementation.
- Ensures all technical architecture adheres to LUMA IT standards and policy.
- Ensures design and development of AMI systems, integrations, and related testing and deployment work aligns to LUMA standards and requirements for solutions architecture.
- Provides review and approval of testing strategies, testing plans, test execution.
- Provides direction on Data Analytics and associated platforms and tools.
- Provides subject matter expertise and guidance for all utility IT/OT application footprint in coordination with leadership.
- Recommend design concepts and technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by following all policies and procedures.
- Perform major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned or needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area
- Experience : Five to Seven (5-7) years of IT Experience in a similar role
- Experience with Java EE, Oracle SOA Suite 12.x (Orchestration, Mediation, BPEL), IBM MQ, Relational Databases, Azure DevOps, GitHub repositories, Azure Frameworks, Data Bricks, Delta Lakes
- Experience with AMI technologies (ISM Band base Mesh Networks, Point to Multipoint licensed spectrum radio technologies, Private LTE)
- Utility application footprint and associated application landscape including AMI
- Project Management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three to Five (3-5) years Electric Utility experience
- Experience with IT infrastructure (Virtual Servers, VMWare) and communications/connectivity infrastructure (VPN, APN, VLANs).
- Experience with GIS technologies, Hexagon, ESRI.
- Experience with leading or interfacing with Run Operations groups for operational systems.
- Experience with CC&B.
Additional Location and Travel Information:
- Office Locations: Often, these offices are either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow any rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work for that project.
- Physical Requirements: During site assessments you may be asked to remain in a stationary period, sit, stand, bend, grab, or kneel; you should also be able to life/carry between 10-30Lbs approximately and have 20/20 corrected vision.
