The Transport Services Group Leader reports to the Mail Services Supervisor and under general supervision coordinates the work of a small group of employees. The Group Leader assigns work to and directs a small group of Mail Clerks and Senior Mail Technicians who processes mail, as well as perform a variety of other routine clerical duties.

Education:




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent



Knowledge:




  • Work requires an in-depth knowledge of departmental procedures, work routines, and Hospital Personnel Policies, as acquired through one to two years of related experiences. Some previous supervisory training required.



Skills:




  • Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with diverse groups of people internal and external to the Hospital.
  • Strong analytical ability required to ensure accuracy of reports (i.e., metered mail charges, staff productivity, and volume audits, etc.).
  • Ability to type a minimum of thirty-five (35) wpm. Prior experience in Excel and Word.



Work Experience:




  • A minimum of two (2) years postal and/or mail center experience.



Working Conditions:




  • Works in a generally good work environment where there is little discomfort due to dust and is subject to machine noise.
  • Position requires frequent movement and some prolonged standing to sort mail and/or operate machinery.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 60 to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
  • Requires safe handling of power equipment that can cause injury and various solutions requiring special handling.
  • Position requires flexibility to deal with shifting job priorities or work in various sites.

Salary Range: Minimum $15.23/hour - Maximum $25.09/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
