Associate R&D Engineer (Pittsburgh, PA)

The Associate R&D Engineer will be involved in research/design/testing of medical devices.

What will you be doing?

• Drive pre-operatively planning surgical cases for knee, hip, and shoulder replacement.
• Work directly with customers such as sales representatives and orthopedic surgeons.
• Collaborate closely directly with the Pre-operative Planning and Robotics teams.
• Identify and recommend process improvements for design, manufacturing, and evaluation.
• Attend departmental and project meetings.
• Participate in project team for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develops requirements and specifications with team.
• Works within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
• Effectively works with peers, project team members, and other departments in new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.

What will you need to be successful?

• Education: Bachelor's degree required (Biomedical or Software Engineering, or Computer Science preferred)
• Some experience with 3D CAD and programming software (UG NX, SolidWorks, Python preferred)
• Creative, analytical, and structured thinker and problem solver who strives to execute
• Knowledge of total knee, hip, or shoulder replacement preferred
• Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral & written)
• Strong computer skills - Exposure to 3D modeling and programming
• Attention to detail
