At Balfour Beatty Construction we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our project teams in Camp Williams, MD. This role is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in managing all administrative and technical requirements for construction projects. Assists in all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial set-up and updates, and schedule to ensure projects are completed in a quality, profitable, safe, sustainable, and timely manner. Maintain constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer needs and expectations by supporting the Project Manager in all aspects of assigned projects

Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 5 years of previous construction office or field experience in a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager role
  • 1-year direct supervisory experience
  • Experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.)
  • Experience with cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, labor reports
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar construction application(s)
  • "Candidates must successfully complete the following prior to hire as a condition of employment:


  • A standard pre-employment background check
  • A standard pre-employment drug screening
  • A DBIDS background check to obtain access credentials under the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS)


  • In addition, employee(s) must maintain ongoing eligibility for DBIDS access throughout the duration of the contract. Periodic background screenings may be conducted to verify continued participation in DBIDS and installation access privileges. DBIDS access may be suspended or revoked if eligibility is lost at any time. An adjudication process may be available for employees who wish to dispute a DBIDS disqualification.
  • Due to federal legal requirements (8 U.S.C. * 1324b(a)(3)), only candidates who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), or individuals granted asylee or refugee status will be considered for this position. Individuals with temporary work authorization are not eligible.


Preferred Experience



  • Scheduling experience and sequencing experience using software applications or Microsoft excel
  • Ground up commercial construction experience.


  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is beneficial for working with field teams/trade partners.


  • Local candidates preferred but not required.


The base compensation range for the role of Assistant Project Manager in Camp Williams MD is $85,000 to $110,000 annually.
