Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a cybersecurity expert to act in a strategic advisory role for a large federal client. This expert will work with a variety of teams across the organization to assess security postures in Cloud, IT, OT, and other environments, identify gaps or areas for improvement, and to make discrete, actionable recommendations consistent with the latest industry best practices and technical standards.

**Due to the nature of the contract and work, US Citizenship is required**



Responsibilities

    Work closely with key cybersecurity leaders to understand mission concerns and requirements
  • Proactively lead project to harden the attack surface and improve detection and response capabilities
  • Integrate processes across a variety of disparate teams
  • Develop requirements and set priorities for a wide range of cybersecurity projects
  • Lead technical evaluations and make product recommendations in alignment with budget concerns, technical requirements and strategic needs


Qualifications

  • BA degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • 2 years of experience conducting cybersecurity training exercises
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Cybersecurity Experience
    • Expert level knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK
    • A strong understanding of Threat Informed Defense
    • Previous operational experience in cybersecurity
    • Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, ISO 27001, CIS and CMMC
    • Familiarity with cyber risk quantification
    • Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Leadership
    • Experience driving enterprise cybersecurity strategy
    • Experience reporting to executive leadership on cybersecurity risks, policies and strategy
    • Evaluation of cybersecurity programs
    • Guide and mentor cybersecurity leaders across a variety of teams

Preferred:

  • Cybersecurity experience in large organizations (>30k endpoints)
  • Previous experience working in a 24x7 SOC environment
  • Previous experience in cybersecurity operations defending against APT level threats
