Job Title: Revenue Accounting Manager JOB SUMMARY Alvaria is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. This position will play a key role in building and leading a best in class team to enable Alvaria's continued financial success . In this role, you will ensure financial reporting accuracy, identify opportunities for improvement and be a key contributor in cross-functional initiatives that will enable Alvaria to effectively scale our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have solid technical knowledge with experience enhancing systems and process in a high growth enterprise SaaS company. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of Revenue Recognition: Take full responsibility for the total company revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. Research and prepare written technical accounting policies and positions on as-needed basis for non-standard revenue transactions. Manage and review Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis.
- Lead Revenue Close Process: Direct and manage the monthly and quarterly revenue close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting with oversight of order to cash process.
- Account Analysis: Analyze and review journal entries and reconciliations associated with revenue-related accounts for accuracy and compliance.
- Financial Controls Development: Develop and implement scalable financial controls and policies to optimize revenue recognition and reporting processes.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Deal Desk teams to review customer contracts, structure deals, and provide support to the sales team.
- Revenue Forecasting Partnership: Partner with FP&A to enhance revenue forecasting and analytics, driving informed business decisions.
- External Audit Support: Work closely with external audit teams during periodic reviews and annual audits, providing necessary documentation and insights as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements to systems and processes, including billing systems and configurations, ensuring robust internal controls are in place.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay informed of changes in revenue recognition regulations, assessing their impact on Alvaria's operations and ensuring compliance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of revenue accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive revenue accounting experience in an Enterprise SaaS environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisor role. Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and revenue recognition best practices.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in NetSuite, Salesforce, Subscription Billing, and CPQ software.
- Experience in Complex Environments: Experience in large, multinational, multi-currency organizations is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills with extensive attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
The US annualized base salary range for this position is $116,000-$247,000. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only (or OTE for commissions based roles), and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives.
