Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven PMO Lead - Governance & Controls to lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of project governance and control frameworks. This role will ensure that all project and program activities operate within a robust structure that aligns with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

You will play a pivotal role in enabling effective decision-making, ensuring compliance, and embedding governance excellence across the US Transformation project portfolio.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

Governance Frameworks

Define and maintain PMO governance standards, policies, and procedures.

Ensure consistent application of project and program lifecycle governance across all initiatives.

Facilitate key governance forums including steering committees, boards, and assurance reviews

Ensure appropriate cadence and information flows are maintained for timely and accurate reporting

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

Oversee the centralized management of project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.

Ensure appropriate escalation paths and mitigation strategies are followed and documented and impacts fed into Change Requests, as appropriate.

Provide guidance to project teams on risk/control best practice.

Reporting & Transparency

Develop and deliver high-quality portfolio-level governance reporting and communications for executive stakeholders.

Maintain a comprehensive PMO dashboard reflecting project health, governance status, and compliance trends.

Ensure governance documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

Bachelor's degree in business, education, or a related field

4+ years of experience in change management

5+ years of experience in a PMO or project governance role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment

Strong understanding of project and program governance models and control frameworks

Proven experience in managing compliance, assurance, and audit processes within a PMO or program environment

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels

Proficiency in project management and governance tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Clarity, or similar)

Experience within Financial Services preferred

Experience in portfolio assurance and maturity assessments preferred

Exposure to tools such as SharePoint, Power BI, GRC platforms.

Compensation

$45.00-51.00 hourly
