We are looking to welcome a Risk Manager to support a major transit program in Southern California as part of a high performing, integrated Program Management Office team.

As Risk Manager, you will be tasked with:

Team Management/ Establishing Processes and Practice




  • As part of the PMO team, work closely with the Director of PMO to establish integrated suite of programcontrols processes and tools.





  • Lead the risk team, providing resource and line management support of the individual schedulers in the team.





  • Establish and maintain best practice risk management processes and guidelines.





  • Promote a pro-active problem-solving culture.




Risk Management




  • Develop and maintain each month a strategic Program risk register





  • Develop risk registers with the project teams for each project in the Program





  • Maintain and update risk registers each month; as part of monthly risk reviews or "surgeries" with the project teams.





  • Advise and support on prioritization of risk mitigation principles.





  • Evaluate and report on the risk and uncertainty liabilities on the projects in respect of key success criteria





  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment





  • Provide risk performance data and assessments as part of PMO monthly reporting.





  • Configure and maintain Risk Management software/ tools.




Support Activities (Led by others)




  • For Value Engineering





  • Cost Estimating





  • Schedule analysis





  • Contract claims analysis





  • Quality Management and Control





As a key member of the PMO team the Risk Manager will be co-located with the PMO team in our Los Angeles offices.

We are looking to speak with experienced risk managers who have availability to join the program immediately and invite applications from candidates with:




  • Experience of working on large infrastructure and or transit projects an advantage.





  • Experienced in providing Board level risk intelligence and supports risk-based decisions with bespoke analytics





  • Knowledge and use of risk analysis software such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA), Safran, Active Risk Manager (ARM), or similar highly preferred





  • Familiarity with ISO Risk 31000





  • Ability to develop risk analysis presentations both graphic, written, and verbal





  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to liaise with client, contractors and team





  • Mentor and management of junior staff

The expected salary for this position is $137,000- $167,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
