Main Duties & Responsibilities

This role will lead the global Closures New Product Development Team, directing and coordinating all aspects of engineering activities, from early stages of product development through manufacturing and delivery, influencing the design to reduce manufacturing costs, optimize speed of production, and eliminate defects while ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for leading New Product Development objectives in Closures, across Industrials, and Food & Beverage end markets.
  • Working with Sales and business Development, Creates and manages the new product development pipeline portfolio, to ensure successive annual rollouts of value-added profitable products, to achieve 5-year plan organic growth targets.
  • Champion prioritized new concepts/products leading the cross functional team through the "Stage Gate" development process to successful commercialization.
  • Responsible for project postmortem evaluation and feedback to ensure key learning and best practices are documented and shared institutionally.
  • Own the New Product Realization process, ensuring compliance to ISO9001 requirements, and continually improving to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures strong communications between Business Development, Product Engineering, Sales Personnel, and Customers.
  • Provide direction and technical support in identifying continuous improvements to manufacturing operations and implementing new technologies including researching current and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related degree
  • Design for Six Sigma practical knowledge.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in advanced product design and development.
  • Injection molding design experience
  • Multi-part plastic assembly experience
  • 3D CAD (Pro-E / Solid Works experience essential)
  • Experience of MS Office
  • Experience with MS Project
