What You'll do: Position Overview: The Business Analyst Intern will support our People Operations team in automating processes and implementing tech solutions to improve the efficiency of corporate operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent computer science graduate to apply technical skills in a real-world setting while gaining hands-on experience with back-office systems. No prior experience is required-just a strong interest in using technology to solve operational challenges. Responsibilities Include:
- Process Re-engineering & Automation: Collaborate on various operational projects, focusing on using technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Specifically, develop and implement an automated snack inventory and ordering process, including creating simple scripts or applications that track stock levels, trigger reorder processes, and integrate with procurement tools.
- System Testing: Support the team in testing and validating new system integrations and file feeds. This may include reviewing data flows, checking for accuracy, identifying issues, and assisting with troubleshooting to ensure smooth and reliable system performance.
- Automated Help Desk Responses: Help enhance HR help desk ticket emails by adding relevant resources or next steps to automated responses based on subjects of help tickets-improving the employee experience and reducing response times.
- Professional Development: Actively build technical and business analysis skills by completing online courses as part of our Business Analyst learning path.
Required Qualifications:
- A recent graduate (or in final year) with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Strong interest in applying technical skills to solve real-world operational challenges.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) with an interest in automation and system integration.
- Basic understanding of databases and data management (SQL, CSV, etc.) and ability to write simple scripts to manipulate data.
- A quick learner, eager to understand HR processes, and enthusiastic about applying technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize workflows.
- Experience with cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) and an understanding of APIs or automation platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a cross-functional team and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $30,680.00 - $31,720.00
