Job Description

The Supply Chain Technician - OR is primarily responsible for the daily activities relating to opening and stocking incoming supplies for surgical services. This responsibility would include, but is not limited to, stocking the core areas as well as the OR overflow area and/or other designated supply areas. This would also include supply rotation and checking all OR supplies for expiration dates. This team member will need to be organized and thorough with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. This team member supports the Supply Chain Inventory Specialist (SCIS) deployed to surgical services and also works collaboratively with the surgical services team.

Responsibilities

  • Open all custom drape packs and stock in sterile processing every morning.
  • Open/unpack all OR supplies that come in from vendors, including Medline, FedEx and UPS. Receives products and services for all assigned user departments in a timely, professional manner.
  • Rotate supplies and maintain stock levels.
  • Monitor all supplies with expiration dates and pull any expired product from the point of use.
  • Daily restock of the East Core and West Core with incoming product and supplies stored in the OR overflow storage area. These areas should be checked at the beginning of each shift and again before the end of shift.

  • Utilizes department computer systems for deployed areas.


Qualifications

Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Minimum Work Experience
  • 1-3 years Supply chain experience or other applicable experience. Preferred
