The Director, Clinical Programs will be responsible for end-to-end business process activities-creating, controlling, and improving business process within the Enterprise Care & Value Pharmacy Team. This position is responsible for management and administration of multiple programs and operations within the Enterprise Care & Value Pharmacy. The person will oversee the Diabetic Supplies program to ensure alignment with overall Part B strategic goals and works directly with other team leaders to ensure effective operations of various department programs.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of staff
  • Works with key members of other departments to facilitate internal and external processes
  • Provides ongoing oversight to Diabetic Supply Team and oversees the review of diabetic orders to ensure they are accurately entered in relevant system(s)
  • Oversees Part B medical rebate program to ensure accuracy/integrity of payment received
  • Ensures regular reconciliation of payment received vs. recorded/required and ensures steps are taken to rectify any discrepancies
  • Collect and review data to evaluate financial outcomes of programs and services
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis on programs to drive efficiencies
  • Apply metrics to evaluate services, employee performance, and program outcomes
  • Works with team to build relationships, developing their ability to influence effectively within the department
  • Works through issues and roadblocks with internal and external stakeholders to reach amicable solutions that balance the needs of all parties
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders to ensure inputs, processes and outputs are captured and maintained for effective implementation
  • Drives performance improvement initiatives and assists department leadership team members in the implementation of programs or projects, including planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, coordinating, and monitoring the outcome of the programs
  • Prepares reports, presentations, verbal/written correspondences, policies, communications, procedures and other required documentation as instructed by leadership

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • 4+ years of Clinical Operations, or Clinical Case Management experience
  • Experience with Staffing Models, Budgets, Workforce management
  • Experience in mobilizing teams and maintaining motivation to accomplish goals under stringent timelines required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Working knowledge of Share Point required
  • Proven ability to independently solve moderately complex problems
  • Proven ability to solve business problems, driving changes in workflow, technology and reporting
  • Proven ability to influence change and innovation through collaboration and teamwork
  • Proven ability to analyze table data to determine trends, find problems, report outcomes
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, organize and complete complex work efforts to meet established objectives
  • Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate work with other team members. Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Proven advanced level problem solving capabilities needed to identify issues, and to work on solution designs related to process, technology and data



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Medicare experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience
  • Experience with process mapping methodology and creating process maps
  • Proven excellent written and oral skills
  • Proven to be detail-oriented and ability to identify potential risk or problems and find resolution
  • Proven ability to influence group relationships with diverse geographic locations, skills and level of understanding of company processes and policy
  • Proven ability to identify complex organizational situations with ability with management to anticipate obstacles and plan appropriate approach
  • Proven ability to influence and interact comfortably with all levels of professional and line level staff.
  • Proven ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of leadership



The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
