About the Job

We are seeking a motivated and productive post-doctoral associate with extensive experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and tissue engineering to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to broad research projects focused on cardiovascular disease modeling and cardiac regeneration using human induced pluripotent stem cells derived cardiac cell types and associated engineered tissues.

As a team member, you will be responsible for conducting experiments and collecting data. You will contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts for publication and grant submissions. In addition to your research responsibilities, you will play an important role in supervising junior trainees.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
80% Experimental Research
* Development, design, and implementation of experiments related to ongoing projects in the laboratory
* Data Analysis and determination of next steps
* Literature Review
* Record keeping
* Cell culture
* Viral Vector design

10% Scientific Writing and Presentations
* Develop and write journal articles including primary research and review articles for peer-reviewed publication
* Participation in laboratory meetings
* Presentation at local and national meetings

10 % Lab supervision and other duties as assigned
* Provide day-to-day supervision of trainees
* Be a resource for laboratory personnel and trainees for troubleshooting
* Contribute to lab maintenance and supply ordering

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biomedical fields or related area including human induced pluripotent stem cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, biomedical engineering, biochemistry
- Experience in gene-editing tools
- Experience of successfully contributing to writing papers
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with junior trainees

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Stem Cell Culture, Cardiomyocytes culture, Cardiac Cell Differentiation, Gene editing.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $62,232 - 75,564 (per NIH salary guidelines/years of experience); depending on education/qualifications/experience
