Job Summary:
The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) seeks a medical oncologist, with a breast cancer research focus to join our faculty. This is an opportunity on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track for prospects seeking a Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor position. Health services or clinical trial research is desired and priority areas include genomics, precision medicine and cancer therapeutics. Interest in cellular therapy is also considered. This clinician will be active in the multi- disciplinary breast oncology program. Responsibilities: For CHS position - Provide inpatient and outpatient clinic attending services at UW Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison and at additional sites within the region. Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as clinical research endeavors. Opportunities exist for pursuit of clinical research in candidate's area/s of interest. The candidate will lead dedicated disease-specific research staff and have access to substantial programmatic research funds. Clinical research is conducted in the UWCCC by 18 multi-disciplinary Disease Oriented Teams and is supported by the UWCCC Clinical Research Office. Over 170 UWCCC investigators regularly enroll patients to therapeutic intervention trials at our two UWCCC clinical sites. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue and secure independent funding to continue/develop their research.
