Compass Group, the world's largest contract foodservice company, has a Great Opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Supervisor in our Field Accounting Department. Responsibilities: * Supervise a group of accounting associates (the Field Accounting Support Team) in support of sectorized Field Accounting * Perform associate hiring, training, and development tasks, including: o Management of day-to-day associate performance to meet expectations o Tracking, reviewing, and communicating KPI performance o Ensuring associates receive all necessary training and support o Preparing annual performance appraisals * Ensure accurate and timely processing of centralized accounting processes as well as sector-specific processing and reporting * Adhere to and enforce of all Field Accounting Standards and any Group Accounting Manual, IFRS or GAAP Standards that apply to team responsibilities * Manage the detailed review of specific balance sheet accounts, including any issue resolution and/or issue escalation to minimize financial risk * Communicate and resolve escalated issues with Field Accounting Department Management and Accountants * Create and maintain up-to-date process documentation of team responsibilities * Foster a partnership with Senior Field Accounting Management to identify areas for training, enhanced support, and process improvement * Identify and implement departmental process efficiencies * Represent Field Accounting on various Corporate and Field projects * Produce ad hoc reporting and participate in projects as needed * Be an active, contributing member of the Field Accounting Management Team Qualifications: * Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance * Three years of accounting experience combined with one-year supervisory experience, preferred * Excellent customer service skills * Strong coaching and mentoring skills * Proven leadership ability * Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines * Must be a quick learner and self-motivated, as well as resilient * Experience with contract interpretation is a plus * Proven ability to influence and manage resources * Proficient knowledge of Excel, SAP a plus * Experience with Hyperion/Essbase a plus * Relationship builder that is able to effectively communicate, written and verbally, with all levels of associates across the organization Apply to Compass Group today!
