Hourly Pay Range:

$20.69 - $30.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Surgical Scheduler II - Skokie

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Surgical Scheduler II
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
  • Required Travel: N/A

What you will do:

  • Schedule surgical cases for the operating rooms
  • Enter case specific information in Epic Optime and ensures accuracy and confirms booking information with the physician and/or physician support staff
  • Review future operating room availability across Endeavor, identifies scheduling options/opportunities with they physician, physician support staff and/or Perioperative staff and to prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Actively and effectively communicate with OR Staff for appropriate scheduling protocols to ensure cases are scheduled appropriately/timely.
  • Conduct Charge Capture for surgical and anesthesia procedures
  • Facilitate the prevention of billing errors by reviewing legal documentation of Epic Optime log entries, physician surgical notes, and anesthesia technical charges to reconcile billable services.
  • Resolve and completes end-of-day processes, ensures surgical encounter charges have been cleared in the "Unposted logs" within Epic Optime and transmits to hospital billing.
  • Create New Purchase Item Requests within Workday as needed for items missing in logs (ie "supply/implant on the fly").
  • Contact and follow up with OR Staff to fix and log discrepancies.
  • Contact and follow up with Supply Vendors to receive missing "Bill Only/Vendor Form/Charge Sheets" as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager (i.e. Request Book, Training New Hires, Workqueues, Adhoc Reports, etc).

What you will need:

  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks, problem solve, and produce detailed, precise work product.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to use Outlook and utilize multiple computer applications and operating systems concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Epic knowledge and experience preferred
  • Must be a team player and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Working knowledge of health insurance nuances is preferred
