Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Regulatory Standard Manager.

In this role, the successful candidate This role supports regulatory activities, including survey readiness and compliance with all applicable licensing and accreditation agencies across NYU Langone Hospitals and related ambulatory sites. Functions include acting as a liaison to hospital administration as designated by senior leadership; providing clinical expertise and functioning as a clinical expert and educator for NYU Langone Hospitals. Works with the Office of Regulatory Affairs leadership and staff to ensure regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained; Activities are conducted to ensure high reliability and patient centered care enterprise wide, in accordance with hospital stated goals, patient and family needs, professional standards, established policies and procedures, and in support of the Hospitals mission of research, education and patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Accreditation and Licensing standards, codes, rules and regulations and organization Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Maintains clinical competency and pursues a planned program of professional development through continuing education, seminars, webinars, and applicable journal newsletter
  • Represents regulatory perspective through participation on administrative & clinical committees as requested
  • Supports patient safety, regulatory and quality initiatives through participation in rounds and meetings
  • Works with Senior Directors Regulatory to assure that data monitoring is timely and acted upon to support improvement.
  • Identifies areas of concern: Identify actual and potential vulnerabilities related to patient safety and survey readiness for all licensing and survey readiness for all licensing, accrediting and certifying agencies. Communicates site progress. Provides recommendations in order to develop and implement effective improvements Implements effective improvements to support compliance with the Regulatory Readiness Plan.
  • Participates in and supports survey preparation for accreditation, reaccreditation, certification reviews, validation, allegation and unannounced surveys as required including supporting preparation and review of specialty program applications/other documents.
  • Uses evidence based standards, practices & guidelines to assist in achieving & maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Supports the hospital to maintain an environment of excellence
  • Orients, educates, and coordinates with Hospital and Site Leadership in performing survey preparation activities including but not limited to: Implementation of the Regulatory Readiness Plan and Mock Tracers Active participation in Perception of Safety and weekly Walk Rounds. Formulates, integrates and implements policies, procedures and programs

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Registered Professional Nurse with a current Professional License in New York State
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Minimum of five years of clinical practice
Knowledge of regulatory process, programs & quality performance measurement & improvement techniques
Knowledge of basic Microsoft package
Demonstrates ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving
Knowledge of educational processes: adult learning and change management
Membership in pertinent professional organizations

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Nursing, Health Care Management or related field
Certification in Safety and/or Quality
Certification in relevant practice area

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $146,384.38 - $154,350.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
