(MD) MEDICAL LICENSE Current Texas license in specific clinical discipline specialty
JOB DUTIES
- Clearly identifies target reference dates for the completion of the PAI for all patients which will correctly reflect the functional status and care needs of the patient to result in the correct Case Mix Group (CMG) assignments.
- Coordinates the completion of the admission assessment of the PAI by the fourth day of the patient's stays and the 5th day following discharge for each inpatient rehabilitation patient.
- Assures that the PAI reflects the functional status and 24 hour care needs of the patient.
- Investigates comorbidities that would allow for a tier change.
- Coordinates the computerized completion of the PAI; may or may not involve performing direct input of data. Encodes the PAI and electronically transmits the PAI within identified time frames.
- Oversees the running of the UDS software and edits all PAIs for all patients.
- Periodically audits PAI, clinical documentation and billing information to assure accuracy and consistency of documentation.
- Monitor CMS compliancy
- Works independently with minimal supervision.- Provides guidelines and instruction to staff regarding CMS changes regarding PPS.- Succinctly communicates with intake coordinators, coders and MD's to assure accurate patient placement/acceptance regarding maintaining 60% compliance.- Accepts additional responsibilities . Organizes scheduled and unscheduled time.
